About Environmental Science
Our interdisciplinary Environmental Science major allows you to pursue your particular interests with two distinct tracks: Science and Environmental Policy. The major’s core courses, emphasizing the natural and physical sciences, provide a springboard from which you can select classes leading to multiple career paths in government, industry, research, and academia.

Georgetown’s Environmental Science program has a long tradition that dates back to 1972, just two years after celebration of the first Earth Day.
Careers
Environmental career paths are exceptionally varied, ranging from wildlife management and conservation biology to environmental law and urban planning; many GC students’ first career comes from an internship while here!
Tracks
Students build on a common set of core classes by selecting among electives that best reflect their interests and career plans in one of two tracks: Science and Environmental Policy.
