  • To help prepare future health care providers for practice in the state of Kentucky

Two Tracks Offered

1.  Foundational Track

  • A course of study for students who lack the minimal coursework required to apply to the graduate or professional school of their choice.  Depending on their background, this student may need to begin with introductory-level courses in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, depending on their stated goals.

  • An individualized course of study for students who already meet the basic requirements for the graduate or professional program of their choice, but whose application and test scores may be enhanced by additional coursework in biology and/or chemistry, or physics, and/or health care administration and medical ethics.  This student may choose to do some research or apply to be a TA in one of our classes for a 1-hour course credit.

Potential Careers

We anticipate two types of students would be attracted to this program.  The first is a person who completed a bachelor's degree in an area outside of science and now wants to go into a healthcare field, and needs many if not all of the pre-requisites.  The second type of student is one who has many of the pre-requisite courses but needs to boost their GPA for graduate and/or a health-care field.
